CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) joined Safety Schemes in Procurement in November 2021 as a Supporter Member.
CLOCS is the National Standard for ensuring the safest construction vehicle journeys, reducing risk to vulnerable road users, improving air quality and congestion, and delivering operational efficiencies.
It brings regulators, clients, contractors and fleet operators together to work collaboratively to maximise the many commercial and social benefits associated with safer, leaner and greener construction logistics.
Andy Brooke, CLOCS Programme Director, stated,
“As clients, contractors and operators look to specify CLOCS standards to drive safer, leaner and greener construction logistics, the procurement process is a vital and powerful mechanism to set these standards from the outset with clarity for all. Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) plays a key role in improving efficiency and reducing duplication in occupational health and safety assessments, and we are pleased to be part of their membership and to have them as part of our own community as a CLOCS Strategic Partner.”
