Assessor Pre-Requisites
To becoming an SSIP Assessor, ensure you meet the following qualifications:
- Necessary Qualifications: Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, BSC Level 3 Certificate, NEBOSH Certificate in Construction, NCRQ Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health & Safety, or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 2 years of general Health & Safety work experience.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of current Health and Safety Legislation, including CDM 2015 requirements.
- Continuous Training: It is mandatory for all SSIP assessors to undertake the SSIP Refresher Assessor Training course within three years of the initial 1-day training course and every three years thereafter.
- Continuing Professional Development: Active participation in CPD is required to maintain and enhance professional competence as an SSIP Assessor.
Note: Before attending the training, delegates must submit copies of their relevant qualifications as detailed in Appendix 15 of the SSIP Rules and Bylaws. Without this, only a certificate of attendance will be issued, not a certificate of course completion.
