Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Ltd s founded in May 2009 following the Government report on Accelerating the SME economic engine: through transparent, simple and strategic procurement. Supported by the HSE SSIP aims to streamline prequalification and encourage straightforward mutual recognition between its Member Schemes.

Role Summary

This is a new role within the organisation and is fundamental to the development of  Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Ltd helping us to flourish during the next phase of our development.

Working closely with the Board, the CEO will support the development and implementation of the strategic and operational plans; leading on partnership and business development; and acting as an effective advocate for the organisation.  He/she will lead the company’s management team, providing clear direction and leadership, with ultimate responsibility for ensuring financial control while also supporting and advising on good governance across all aspects of the company.

The CEO will play a key role in motivating and engaging staff, members, prospective members and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the board of directors, lead the development of long-range strategic goals for the organisation and devise associated objectives, plans, and policies in order to deliver against.

Oversee the organisation’s financial structure and assume responsibility for financial performance, including relationships with both members and suppliers.

Review the financial results of all operations in line with company objectives and take appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and results.

Provide effective leadership of the organisation and management of staff, including the implementation of policies relating to staff, ensuring that they are supported and trained to make an effective contribution.

Drive quality performance throughout the company by setting goals for each committee in collaboration with the committee head and associated stakeholders.

This is a part time role {anticipate 20 hours per week} and offers flexible working.

About You

The ideal person will have previous operational management experience and a commercial head, a proven track record for effective team management and results-driven leadership, preferably from working within a non-profit membership organisation with experience of working alongside a Board.

You will have a proven ability to effectively manage a growing organisation, understand corporate responsibility, be able to liaise with stakeholders and volunteers and implement systems and processes to support sustainable growth.

Senior leadership experience and knowledge of health and safety, supply chain management, construction industry awareness and industry standards are essential.

You will be a confident leader who is driven to succeed.
